1. Asking about a place someone visited

시장 [si-jang] = market; 사람 [sa-ram] = person/people; 많다 [man-ta] = to be many.

2. Asking what someone heard

⚠️ Pitfalls to Dodge

• ❌ Using -더냐? [-deo-nya] as casual everyday speech with friends → ✅ Use 어땠어? [eo-ttae-sseo] or 좋았어? [jo-a-sseo] in normal conversation.

• ❌ Treating -더냐? [-deo-nya] as simple past only → ✅ It asks through a direct-experience or remembered-scene lens.

• ❌ Using it politely with strangers as if it were honorific → ✅ It belongs to plain-style speech; for polite speech, report it or switch to polite questions like 어땠어요? [eo-ttae-sseo-yo].

• ❌ 학생더냐? [hak-saeng-deo-nya] → ✅ 학생이더냐? [hak-saeng-i-deo-nya]. Consonant-ending nouns need 이더냐? [i-deo-nya].

• ❌ 좋더냐고 했어요 [jot-teo-nya-go hae-sseo-yo] when you mean “asked whether it was good” → ✅ 좋더냐고 물었어요 [jot-teo-nya-go mu-reo-sseo-yo]. Use “ask,” not just “say,” for a reported question.
