-(으)ㄹ 수밖에 없다 is the grammar of forced reality. You use it when a situation leaves only one possible action, conclusion, or response.
 
It is stronger than simple “can’t.” It says: “Because of the circumstances, this is the only option.”

Use this when the only possible action is forced by the situation.

  • 기다리다 [gi-da-ri-da] — to wait → 기다릴 수밖에 없어요 — have no choice but to wait
  • 취소하다 [chwi-so-ha-da] — to cancel → 취소할 수밖에 없어요 — have no choice but to cancel
  • 포기하다 [po-gi-ha-da] — to give up → 포기할 수밖에 없어요 — have no choice but to give up
 

2. Descriptive verb + -(으)ㄹ 수밖에 없다

Use this when a state/result is inevitable.
  • 비싸다 [bi-ssa-da] — to be expensive → 비쌀 수밖에 없어요 — it is bound to be expensive / cannot help but be expensive
  • 어렵다 [eo-ryeop-da] — to be difficult → 어려울 수밖에 없어요 — it is bound to be difficult
  • 춥다 [chup-da] — to be cold → 추울 수밖에 없어요 — it is bound to be cold
  • 많다 [man-ta] — to be many/much → 많을 수밖에 없어요 — there are bound to be many
 

3. Noun + 일 수밖에 없다

For nouns, use 일 수밖에 없다.
  • 실수 [sil-su] — mistake → 실수일 수밖에 없어요 — it has to be a mistake
  • 사실 [sa-sil] — fact → 사실일 수밖에 없어요 — it has to be true / has to be a fact
  • 문제 [mun-je] — problem → 문제일 수밖에 없어요 — it has to be a problem
 

4. Past situation + -았/었을 수밖에 없다

Use this when something in the past was inevitable.
  • 그때는 그렇게 할 수밖에 없었어요.
      • [geu-ttae-neun geu-reo-ke hal su-bak-ke eop-seo-sseo-yo] — At that time, I had no choice but to do that.
  • 상황상 포기할 수밖에 없었어요.
      • [sang-hwang-sang po-gi-hal su-bak-ke eop-seo-sseo-yo] — Given the situation, I had no choice but to give up.

The usual sentence logic is:
 
Reason / situation + -(으)ㄹ 수밖에 없다
