๐ Cultural Note โ Refusing Food in Korea
In Korean culture, especially at a ํ์ (company dinner) or a host's home, food and drink are often offered repeatedly โ and the first refusal may not be taken at face value. A polite decline might be met with another offer: ๊ทธ๋๋ ์กฐ๊ธ๋ง์! Giving a specific reason โ ์ด์ ์ด ์์ด์, ๊ฑด๊ฐ์์ ์ด์ ๋ก์, ๋ฐฐ๊ฐ ๋๋ฌด ๋ถ๋ฌ์ โ helps the other person accept your refusal more naturally. Following a decline with ๋ค์์ ๊ผญ ๋จน์๊ฒ์ shows appreciation and keeps the warmth in the interaction.
