• Respected subject + 께서 + passive/report verb + -(으)시- + formal ending
• 교수님께서 초대되셨습니다. (The professor was invited.)
• 대표님께서 선출되셨습니다. (The CEO was elected.)
• 어르신께서 구조되셨습니다. (The elder was rescued.)

Receive-frame honorific

• Respected subject + 께서 + noun + 을/를 받으시다
• 고객님께서 안내를 받으셨습니다. (The customer received guidance.)
• 원장님께서 검사를 받으셨습니다. (The director received an examination.)

Neutral passive

• Thing/event + 이/가 + passive/report verb + formal ending
• 자료가 검토되었습니다. (The materials were reviewed.)
• 회의가 연기되었습니다. (The meeting was postponed.)
• 오류가 확인되었습니다. (An error was confirmed.)

🚨 Exception Rule(s)

• Indirect honorifics are tied to people. 연세가 많으십니다 honors the elder behind 연세, but 자료가 많으십니다 is wrong because materials are not honored.

• Not every 되다 verb needs -시-. 보고서가 제출되셨습니다 is wrong.

• Formal is not the same as honorific. 되었습니다 is formal; 되셨습니다 is formal plus subject honorific.

• Naturalness matters. In casual speech, 할머니가 병원에 가셨어요 (Grandmother went to the hospital) may sound more natural than 할머니께서 병원으로 이송되셨어요 unless the context is medical, official, or report-like.
